There is no ability to hunt as a group with friends. This is a solitary experience and with the long and arduous periods of stealth and skulking around, this can become a mundane and rather lonely experience. The game doesn't bring the series into the next generation with a shiny new coat of paint. It offers a better art style for sure, though this leads to lower frame rates and performance issues. Plus a lot of the textures present are still not brilliantly imagined and are generally inconsistent throughout.
The sound quality does an awful lot to help patch over this issue. With sounds and ambient noises of the wild that really do give an authentic feel of nature. It does wonders for players seeking immersion. Though its a shame the visuals couldn't compliment this. This game has a lot of qualities that make it by far and away from the best hunting game on the market for this time. Though as you would imagine, there isn't a lot of competition and when comparing this with a top-end FPS title, it falls well short of the mark.
Unique mechanics, professional commentary and ambient sounds do elevate this game to a level where those who are interested in the sport of hunting will really appreciate this title.
Though thanks to the niche fan base for this game plus the performance issues present, it wouldn't be something we would recommend to casual FPS players. Browse games Game Portals. Install Game. Sometimes you have to walk over a hill to find them, so maybe that's what they call hunting. Its an arcade game where you can shoot deer during turkey season for extra points. You cannot select your hunts, it takes you to an area and you have to run through a series of hunts of different critters again you don't get to choose which ones.
And you have to score a certain amount of points before it lets you continue to the next stage. It is beautifully rendered, but as a result its a memory hog even on its lowest settings. Its all but unplayable on my wife's laptop I bought it on vacation , but it runs perfectly on my desktop MB video card probably helps a lot here.
Summary: If you want hunting, don't look here. If you want to shoot cg animals with no work involve and you have a PC that can handle this, then I suppose this will work as well as any. Love the game. Can't get past the level 2. Doesn't offer any other levels to start out on. Graphics are alright. Somewhat disappointed. Husband loves playing the Hunting Games on the PC and this one is especially fun to play Shipping was in a quickly manner and condition of game was excellent.

Pros: Incredible graphics, sound and very realistic animal responses and behavior. Cons: Activision tried so hard to make this hyper realistic that they dropped the ball on making it FUN! For one, you have to play the same region forever in order to accumulate enough gear credits to actually buy the kind of weapons needed to get through the various challenges.
Unlik other Big Game Hunter games, in this version the vitals of the animals do not highlight when you take aim so you have to guess where to shoot in order to get a clean kill shot. If you don't get an immediate kill shot, you get penalized gear credits that took forever to earn.
The wind is constantly in your back for some reason which is very annoying. Very little in ways of different weather patterns so it gets a little boring after a while. You'd think they could have worked in some rain and snow. So far, all I get is some fog in the Northeast portion. You're confined to America for your hunting missions.
That's it. Once you beat the 4 hunting regions, you're done. Game over. You have to beat the Pro Hunts in order to unlock another hunting region but the catch is that they are so difficult to beat that it takes the fun out of it. All in all, they tried to hard to make this a real hunting game Mind you, I'm reviewing the PC Download version. I'm sure it would play a lot better and with more fun on a game console with a light gun. Oh and
